Beskrivelse

Denne katamaranturen har alt for familier som vil gjøre noe gøy sammen. Dere kan sole dere, svømme og slappe av om bord, mens båten passerer noen av Kypros vakreste kyststrekninger. Vi seiler ut fra den gamle havnen i Limassol i retning av øyas sørligste punkt på et katamarancruise der hovedfokuset er å få en fin dag på sjøen.

Dere går om bord i katamaranen i Limassol og finner en plass på solsengene eller på nettet for å få god utsikt. Kapteinen og hans mannskap styrer båten sydover mot Capa Gata, så dere kan bare lene dere tilbake og slappe av. Mens dere ser landskapet forbi, kan dere avkjøle dere med juice, vann, øl og vin.

Det blir en dag med mye sol, så i løpet av turen er det flere badestopp med mulighet til å svømme, snorkle eller bare plaske litt. Når vi har vært på Lady's Mile Beach, serveres lunsj om bord før det er på tide å komme tilbake til havnen.

Ancient Kourion tour with Paphos Harbour visit

Cyprus is home to some hugely important ancient Greek and Roman sites. On this tour, you'll take in Aphrodite's Rock, ancient Paphos and the Tombs of the Kings, visit Kourion – and enjoy free time in the Paphos harbour area. Andreas, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘The Tombs of the Kings offer us a valuable insight into ancient Mediterranean culture. There are very similar tombs in Alexandria, demonstrating the strong ties between the two cities in ancient times.'After a coffee pit-stop along the way, you'll stop by Kourion archaeological site to see landmarks such as the theatre – dating from the 2nd century BC – and the Agora. En route to Paphos, there's a photo stop at Petra tou Romiou – or Aphrodite's Rock – where, legend has it, the ancient Greek goddess of love and beauty emerged from the sea foam. Andreas says, ‘At Kourion, you see the ruined house of Eustolios and find out what life was like here before the city was destroyed by an earthquake in the 4th century.'Next, we'll head to ancient Paphos for a guided visit of the Tombs of the Kings, the House of Dionysos and its well-preserved mosaics. Andreas says, ‘The rock-hewn Tombs of the Kings were not actually intended for royalty, but instead the aristocracy and island governors were laid to rest here. The name reflects the sheer grandeur of the necropolis.' Later, you'll enjoy some free time to shop and wander around Paphos Harbour. Maybe you can stroll along the waterfront or grab a bite to eat at one of the many terrace cafés.

Ancient Kourion, Kolossi Castle, Omodos and winery tour from Limassol

Cyprus is all rolling hills dotted with pretty villages. On this adults-only tour, you'll see where a legend was born, visit the ruins of Kourion, venture to the village of Omodos and cap off the day with a wine tasting. Eva, one of our local guides, says of this excursion, ‘You'll wander through layers of history, culture and mythology.'You'll dive straight into the past at Kourion, one of the most impressive archaeological sites in Cyprus. Visit the Roman baths and amble into the site's centrepiece, the Greco-Roman theatre. Concerts are still held to this day. While the mosaics of the trio of excavated houses known as those of Eustolius, the Gladiators and Achilles are as impressive as when they were laid down. The 15th-century Kolossi Castle is up next. This steeped-in-legend Crusader-built fortress is nowadays surrounded by blooming plants. Then, we'll head for a local lunch in a family-run taverna before visiting mountain-fringed Omodos where you'll wander around skinny cobbled streets lined with Byzantine buildings. It's Eva's favourite village. She says, ‘The charm of the stone houses, the tranquillity and peace. It's as if it has sprung from a fairytale. I love dropping into one of the cafés and seeing locals have philosophical discussions, political arguments and a bit of gossip.' To finish, there's a wine tasting session, where you'll learn all about sweet commandaria wine – one of the oldest varieties in the world.

Blue Lagoon, gorge and beach tour by boat and 4x4 in Akamas

On this trip, you'll explore the Akamas peninsula by land and sea. And, rather than your typical coach set-up, you'll be in a 4x4 vehicle. The area is known for its natural beauty, so you're in for a real treat. Your day begins at Avakas Gorge, perhaps Cyprus' most impressive natural wonder, with a half-hour walk through its deep canyon with sheer walls of limestone that form a natural, narrow tunnel. Other star turns include Lara Beach, where a turtle conservation project has been protecting sea turtles for decades, enjoying lunch not far from Latchi harbour, and then a boat trip to the Blue Lagoon where you can take a dip in water so clear you'll see your toes.

Spend the day travelling through the forested Troodos Mountains and discover some of Cyprus' wildest landscapes on this 4x4 tour. There are more than 1,200 creatures, including monkeys, tigers and reptiles. Be sure to catch the ever-popular parrot show, where you'll have a chuckle at these cheeky birds. What's more, lunch at the zoo's Flamingo Restaurant is included. With a cool dining area in a veranda, a clay oven and an in-house chef cooking up dishes made from locally sourced ingredients, it's an attraction in itself. Next, we'll travel to Latchi harbour to catch the boat to the Blue Lagoon. From here, you'll cruise out into the open sea, following the glittering waters to the Blue Lagoon, where your captain will drop anchor for you to enjoy the surroundings. Take a dip, snorkel or simply stay on the deck to sunbathe – the choice is yours. There are many boat trips to the Blue Lagoon, but no other tour combines it with Pafos Zoo for a great family day out.
