Das war ein sehr schöner Ausflug mit einem wunderbaren Guise (Mohammed). Er hat uns alles erklärt, vieles gezeigt und ist individuell auf uns eingegangen. Die Zitadelle ist sehr beeindruckend und bei dem Basar haben wir gemeinsam viele untouristische Ecken besucht.

Your first stop is the Saladin Citadel, which is the icon of Cairo that was home to Egyptian rulers for some 700 years. Not only that, but it also houses some fairly indifferent museums and a couple of terraces with a view over the city.
You will also stop at the Mohamed Ali Mosque that has a terrace with an amazing view. Sit on the terrace that has superb views across Islamic Cairo to the tower blocks of Down Town and, on a clear day, the Pyramids of Giza. Then, you will continue to be driven through Cairo's old and modern streets until you reach Khan El Khalili, a famous bazaar and souq (or souk) in the historic center of Cairo. It was established as a center of trade in the Mamluk era and since become one of Cairo's main attractions for tourists and Egyptians alike. It is also home to many Egyptian artisans and workshops involved in the production of traditional crafts and souvenirs.
