Travel back in time on an informative and fun tour of the Acropolis of Athens, guided by a field expert and licensed tour guide. Discover this UNESCO World Heritage Site through a journey into history, mythology, and storytelling.

Visit the unique Acropolis hill. Admire the Dionysus Theatre, where famous ancient dramas and tragedies were first performed. Walk around the stunning Odeon of Herodes Atticus and the sanctuary of the healing god Asclepius. On top of the hill, visit the Propylea Temple of Nike and the Erechtheion Temple. Explore the Parthenon, which is the most important symbol of democracy and Western civilisation.

Continue with a visit to the Acropolis Museum. All the original surviving masterpieces from the temples of the Acropolis are displayed with the use of natural light. Excavations are also visible under glass floors and walkways. Explore the first floor, where exhibited artefacts reveal facets of the Athenian daily life. Get to know wedding customs, children's favourite toys, healing techniques, and religious practices. On the final floor of the museum, next to the breathtaking view of the Acropolis, admire the original, unique in concept and artistic excellence, Parthenon frieze.

How refreshing it was to experience Dora explain the development and progression of the Parthenon Athens. Navigating up the south side and meandering effortlessly around the artefacts and upwards was a rare treat. Great job!

Efficient office issuing instructions & audio, so that we could hear our guide throughout the tour. Only downside was no toilets at Athena Travel after journey in, but lovely cafe Caelum down the road for breakfast. Very knowledgeable guide who paced it well & stopped for talks in shade! Fab tour!

Tolle Tour die man machen sollte. Unser Guide (Angela) hatte ein sehr gutes Wissen und ich habe viel gelernt. Sie hat auch immer darauf geachtet, dass wir im Schatten stehen. Feste Schuhe anziehen auf keinen Fall mit Schlappen da hoch. Danke für die tolle Tour!
