Denne heldagsudflugt viser områdets bedste sider med vinsmagning på Karavitakis Winery, smagning af økologisk olivenolie på Biolea Estate og afslapning på Falassarna-stranden. Vasso, en af vores lokale specialistguider, siger: "Dette er en af mine yndlingsudflugter, da den giver en god smagsprøve på mange aspekter af den kretensiske natur, livsstil og monumenter. Du kan besøge en olivenoliefabrik og en vingård, der producerer nogle af de bedste vine på Kreta".

Dagen starter med lidt vinkultur på en guidet udflugt til den familiedrevne Karavitakis Winery. Glæd dine smagsløg ved at smage på lokal vin og lækre snacks i det moderne besøgscenter. Herefter spiser vi frokost på en traditionel kretensisk restaurant ved havet, hvor maden tilberedes med lokale produkter. Du får også tid til at slappe af i det lyse sand på den skønne Falassarna-strand, der, som Vasso siger, "adskillige gange er blevet kåret som en af de bedste strande i Europa".

Derefter går turen til Biolea Estate, en familieejet olivenoliefabrik, der har specialiseret sig i håndværksmæssig produktion af økologisk olivenolie. Find ud af alt, hvad du har brug for at vide om olivenolieproduktion, fra hvordan olivenerne dyrkes, til hvordan olien presses og derefter tappes på flaske. Desuden bidrager ét besøg til en lokal virksomhed og hjælper øens økonomi.

God tur med mange seværdigheder. Den blev meget lang så besøget på oliven fabrikken… det skulle bare overstået, lidt ærgerligt. To søde guider med smil og spurgte ind til vores oplevelse på turen Vin smagning måtte godt ligge senere i programmet, tidligt ved 10-11 tiden ??

Vi valgte tur med svensk guide.! Det klarede han ikke specielt godt! I bussen kunne vi næsten ikke høre hvad han sagde. Vi påtalte det mange gange!! Han oversatte kun ca 50 % af hvad den egelsk talende guide fortalte. Den græske guide der fortalte om olivenolie, talte alt for hurtigt! Turen som helhed var super god og afvekslende. Dejlig mad og fin service på restauranten. Fin buschauffør med god kørsel. Søde guider begge to.

Guiderne var ikke til spor hjælp. Fik ingen sms om informationsmøde. Det var uerfarernc øSå derfor vidste vi intet om diverse muligheder for de forskellige oplevelser der var på scenen. Hotellet var fantastisk og utrolig sød betjening maden var også fantastisk og det flot rent overalt.

Leuk rondleiding op olijfbomen bedrijf. Wijnproeverij is leuk, ik mis echter rondleiding op zo’n bedrijf . Proeverij past beter in de middag. Leuk strand maar helaas toen slecht weer. Restaurant waar gegeten is was slecht, geen vriendelijk e opzet en geen lekker eten.

Thought to be the cradle of Europe's first civilization, the UNESCO-listed Palace of Knossos is one of the most important ancient sites in Crete. Let an expert bring history to life as you explore the island's most-prized archaeological gem. This trip also includes free time in the resorts of Rethymnon, plus a tour of the Cretan capital, Heraklion. Andreas, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘The Minoans were very advanced, and the Palace of Knossos showcases architectural techniques such as multi-storey buildings and a sophisticated drainage system that were ahead of their time.'You'll start the morning in Rethymnon's maze of colourful streets, where you can browse the shops, find a little cafe or head down to the harbour. Curving around the small bay, Rethymnon harbour is as pretty as it is old. The views of the Venetian-era Fortezza and out to sea are a delight. Next up is Crete's capital, Heraklion. Here, you'll enjoy a guided tour of the city's best bits, such as the Venetian lion fountain and the loggia. And with fast-track access, there's no waiting around in queues.It's then time to head to Heraklion, the island's capital. Full-day Crete wine-tasting and 4x4 off-road tour

This full-day guided tour is all about getting to grips with a few of Crete's most popular local products, olive oil and wine. You'll learn how both are made, and you'll get to sample some for yourself, all while travelling between stops in the back of a 4x4. Ioannis, one of our expert local guides says “in my opinion, there's no better way to understand the culture of a destination than by meeting the people who make local produce. They know the area better than anyone, and the produce is a reflection of the culture.”You'll kick things off at the Terra Creta Olive Mill. Here, you'll see how olives are turned into oil before a tasting session. Then, you'll be welcomed into a boutique winery for a tour of the grounds and, of course, to sample the wines produced here. You'll learn about the different grape varieties, including some experimental wines made from rare grapes. Next, you'll continue to the village of Ano Vouves, home to an ancient olive tree – it's thought to be between 2,000 and 4,000 years old, but it still produces olives to this day.Afterwards, you'll set off on an off-road adventure in a 4x4 towards the mountain village of Sebronas. As you zoom through the gorge, you'll see pretty chapels, vineyards and olive groves – and you'll have time to snap a few photos along the way. Crete 4x4 Mount Psiloritis tour with typical meze lunch

Combining inland Crete's rugged landscapes and ancient villages with a visit to a typical shepherd's hut, this small group 4x4 tour is for those who are wild at heart. You'll journey into the mountains to the Halepa Monastery from Rethymnon, venture off-road and stop to enjoy some typical meze. Georgios, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘The Halepa Monastery is thought to be the oldest on Crete, dating from the mid-16th century. Not only is it a special, spiritual place, but it boasts bird's-eye views over the valley of Mylopotamos.' Passing through areas of lush green landscapes and traditional villages such as Milopotamos, the tour gets off to a panoramic start. We'll wind our way up the slopes of Mount Psiloritis to Halepa Monastery, which was in ruins before the restoration works finished in the year 2000. The ruined structure used to be a refuge for Cretan rebels during past civil wars, but now it is as peaceful as it is beautiful. As you continue your off-road adventure, your guide will deepen your understanding of the history and the traditions of the island, introduce you to the locals, and point out the wildlife of Crete. Stop to see an original shepherd's hut – known as 'Mitato' – and taste local honey at a producer. Guided tour to Preveli Palm Beach by boat with taverna lunch

Southern Crete's coastline is full of unexpected surprises and on this full day tour, you'll find yourself in one of the island's most impressive natural settings. We'll set off to Damnoni for a cruise along rocky coastline to one of southern Crete's most beautiful – and remote – beaches, Preveli beach. There's a beachside lunch to look forward to as well. Sofia, one of our expert guides, says, ‘Preveli beach is lovely, but don't forget to explore the palm forest behind. It's a really unusual ecosystem and the river is so refreshing. Bring your snorkel, too, the rocky headlands enclosing the beach are great snorkel spots.'Disembarking at Preveli palm beach before the crowds arrive, you'll be able to take in the wow-factor scenery in peace. The sand-and-pebble beach stretches across the mouth of a craggy gorge softened by palm forests and carved by a cool, clear river. The river broadens into a lagoon which trickles behind the sweeping beach into the bright blue sea. You'll have plenty of free time to stretch out on the shore or take a dip before the return boat trip.Back at Damnoni, a typical Cretan lunch at a beachfront taverna will be waiting for you.
