Att göra – Dogepalatset
Dogen var republiken Venedigs högsta myndighet och detta palats hans bostad. Detta specifika palats har spårats tillbaka till 1172, året då det byggdes, och förändrade helt utseendet på Markusplatsen.
Det öppnades officiellt som ett museum 1923 och har under sin långa historia klarat sig undan bränder och översvämningar och har har varit residens för många Doges.
Den har en fasad med utsikt över lagunen och är dekorerad med skulpturer från 1400-talet. Museo dell'Opera tar upp 6 rum i slottet där mästerverk av venetiansk skulptur nu hittar sitt hem.
Andra specialfunktioner som är öppna för allmänheten är Doges lägenhet, de institutionella kamrarna, fängelserna och Suckarnas bro (byggd 1602), en av de mest kända broarna i Venedig.

“Good tour due mainly to our tour guide. We were expecting to visit all the places listed on the tour, not only from outside. We had to go the following day and pay a ticket to visit some places inside. A bit pricey but it's nice to visit a place without crowds especially in such a busy city.”
“Skip the line ticket is definitely worth it and walking over the bridge of sighs was a special experience. They should warn you though that there are steps to almost all the rooms, lots of levels and even more steps with quite an incline. However, the rooms are stunning and worth a visit.”
