Att göra – Laurenskerk
Laurenskerk är den enda kvarvarande medeltida byggnaden i Rotterdam och en viktig symbol för staden. Byggnaden byggdes i den sena gotiska perioden och hänvisar till den tid då Rotterdam fortfarande var murat och vattenvägarna var de viktigaste handelsvägarna.
St Lawrence-kyrkan (Sint-Laurenskerk), även känd som Storkyrkan (de Grote Kerk), byggdes mellan 1449 och 1525. Den skadades därefter kraftigt under bombningarna 1940, och av denna anledning beslutade Rotterdamborna att för att återställa kyrkan till sin tidigare ära 1952.
Besök Laurenskerk för att se kopparkörstaketet från 1713, beundra monumentet över sjöhjältarna 'Kortenaar', 'Van Brakel' och 'Witte de With' och dess bronsdörrar skapade av italienska designern Manzù.
