Att göra – Pantheon
Pantheon byggdes under Augustan-perioden och är tillägnad alla gudar som dyrkades under det forntida Rom. Byggnaden byggdes om av kejsaren Adriano mellan 118 och 128 e.Kr. och är ett typiskt exempel på klassisk arkitektur: beräkningen av geometrier och den perfekta harmonin i dess linjer gör den stabil och balanserad.
Med kristendomen kom Pantheon om till en kristen basilika i början av sjunde århundradet med namnet Santa Maria della Rotonda. Denna omvandling har gjort det möjligt att förbli intakt genom århundradena och opåverkad av plundring och skadorna på de klassiska byggnaderna i Rom.
Idag ha Pantheon en status som en mindre basilika och är värd för miljoner turister varje år.
