Beskrivning

For an experience that's 100% Jamaica, look no further than this exclusive private excursion. A tour and tasting of the Appleton Estate rum factory gets the day off to a great start, followed by a refreshing dip in the famous YS Falls and a boat ride over to the one and only Pelican Bar. This is one of our private TUI Collection excursions, which give you a local flavour of the destination while offering you the freedom and flexibility to enjoy the day your way.

Kick off at the Appleton Estate and you'll tour the factory that produces what many consider the finest rums in Jamaica. Learn about the distillation process, juice your own cane and, of course, taste the honey-coloured rum. On to the cascading waters of the YS Falls, you'll cool off in the refreshing waterfall pools with a swim.

After lunch, we board a boat and glide out to the Pelican Bar. This ramshackle hut on stilts has to be seen to be believed. Standing on glittering waters, it's probably the coolest bar in the world. Don't forget to carve your name into the wood and if you have a flag handy, bring it out to barman Floyd. With luck, you might spot dolphins too.

I maronernas anda - kulturresa på Jamaica med lunch

Din färd genom norra Jamaica kommer att introducera dig till öns kultur och historia. Vi besöker Charles Town Maroon Museum för att lära oss mer om maronernas kamp för frihet, njuter av en god lunch på Strawberry Fields Together och promenerar genom Sun Valley Plantation för att prova färska frukter och grönsaker. Jada, en av våra lokalguider, säger: "De jamaicanska maroonerna har ett stolt och fascinerande arv. De är ättlingar till västafrikanska slavar som flydde från plantager och skapade samhällen som kallades Maroon Towns. Dessa samhällen bevarade sina afrikanska rötter - maroonkulturen är känd för sin livfulla musik, dans, historieberättande, örtmedicin och matlagning.Vårt första stopp är Charles Town Basic School, en liten skola i hjärtat av Charles Town Maroon-samhället. Solnedgångsbåttur vid Montego Bay

Solnedgångar är fantastiska över hela världen, men i Montego Bay törs vi lova att de är magiska. Vi seglar katamaran till tonerna av en saxofonist som spelar ombord, tar en drink i baren och får chans att se en äkta karibisk solnedgång - och om vi har tur även det sällsynta ljusfenomenet Green Flash.Medan katamaranen seglar ut från Montego Bay kan du beundra utsikten över Jamaicas nordkust. I bakgrunden spelar saxofonisten och i baren serveras tropiska drinkar.I kvällssolen dukar besättningen upp lite goda smårätter medan kaptenen kastar ankar inför kvällens höjdpunkt.
