HafenCity-distriktet i Hamburg är ett resultat av stadsförnyelse efter att ha blivit vitaliserat av nya hotell, butiker, attraktioner, kontorsbyggnader och bostadsområden. Det ligger i området för den tidigare hamnen och grundades formellt 2008. Området inkluderar Speicherstadt-området, HafenCity University, dedikerat till arkitektur och stadsplaneringsstudier, och den världsberömda Elbphilharmonie konserthus, en av stadens viktigaste attraktioner .
