Att göra – Sankta Katarina kyrka
Du kommer inte att kunna missa de 73 meter höga tornen i Sankta Katarinas kyrka när du utforskar Eindhoven, ett bra stopp för att lägga till din resplan för lite lugn och ro och för att beundra fantastisk arkitektur.
Pierre Cuypers är den geniale arkitekten bakom denna nygotiska romersk-katolska kyrka. Du kanske har sett mer av hans skapelser om du har besökt Rijksmuseum och centralstationen i Amsterdam - hans arbete kommer att göra dig andfådd! Av 70 andra kyrkor som Cuypers har designat är detta definitivt en av hans finaste. Spektakulärt nog att Vincent Van Gogh gjorde en skiss av kyrkan som finns i Amsterdams Van Gogh-museum.
Kyrkan är tillägnad Saint Alexandra, håll utkik efter de målade glasfönstren, statyerna och tornen (som heter Maria och David!). Inuti finns två orglar, varav en är bland de största i landet med 5723 pipor och Musikstiftelsen håller regelbundet musikkonserter. Akustiken kommer att skicka rysningar längs ryggraden!
