Buckle up for an adventure across Tenerife with this full-day tour across the north. Lush greenery, rugged coastlines and historic charm characterise this side of the island, and with stops at La Orotava, the historic fishing port of Garachico and the island's famous Dragon Tree, you'll get a true Canarian experience.

Kick off your trip at Icod de los Vinos, home to the legendary Dragon Tree. Its ancient gnarled roots have seen more than a thousand years worth of history – it's pretty mind-blowing. After you've snapped some pics, the tour continues with a visit to the oldest town in the Canary Islands, La Orotava. Feel the history hanging in the air as you get a glimpse of authentic Canary Island architecture and its romantic balconies. And, make sure to keep your eyes peeled for Casa de lo Balcones.

After lunch, you'll swing by Puerto de la Cruz – one of the very first tourist destinations in the world – before taking in the wow-factor coastal views en route to Garachico. This former fishing village is hemmed between the sea and a cliff and the views will blow you away. You'll round off the day here, with free time on the cards to explore, soak up the sea breeze along the harbour or grab a coffee.

It's one pretty village after another on this exclusive tour in the rugged northwest of Tenerife. We'll drop in at a roll call of the island's must-visits. Christian, one of our local experts, says, ‘A guide shows you around the park in Icod de los Vinos and gives you the lowdown on its fascinating dragon tree, which is 20 metres tall.' Santiago del Teide, local speciality tasting and a trip to Teno Rural Park are also part of the line-up.You'll journey through Santiago del Teide, a highland village of whitewashed homes. In Icod de Los Vinos, you'll admire the centuries-old dragon tree, with some free time to wander around the town. Garachico – often called the ‘prettiest and unluckiest' – awaits with some interesting history. Devastated by a volcanic eruption in 1706 and rebuilt on its lava, it's now famous for natural lava pools, guarded by a volcanic rock castle, where locals and visitors alike come to bathe. When it's time to take a break, there's a tasty local lunch, served in a family-run restaurant in a traditional finca. Teno Rural Park showcases the island's rich biodiversity and is known as the source of Tenerife's top-quality natural produce. You'll even get to try some locally made marmalades and jams, all produced with a minimum carbon footprint. Southern Tenerife sightseeing tour with wine-tasting

Dramatic landscapes and rugged, volcanic shores come as standard in Tenerife. But, not a lot is said about the rich agriculture the island offers. On this tour, you'll journey through the south and get to know the island's culture and identity. You'll see how aloe vera is grown and learn about its many uses at a plantation, explore the lofty village of Vilaflor de Chasna and sample local wines. Ivan, one of our expert local guides, says “Vilaflor was once called Chasna. But, when a ship captain called Pedro de Bracamonte visited, he spotted a beautiful Guanche girl and shouted Vi la flor de Chasna, which means I've seen the flower of Chasna – after this, the village got its name.”The dry climate and year-round sunshine in the Canaries mean that aloe vera thrives here, even though it is not a native species – it originally came from the Arabian Peninsula. You'll take a guided tour of the plantation, and the owners will share their knowledge about the curative powers of this well-known plant, which is used for medicinal purposes in cultures throughout history.Next, you'll visit Vilaflor. Perched on the southern slope of the island's volcano, Mount Teide, the views down to the coast from 1,400 metres above sea level are next level. The village has an almost Alpine feel that's totally different from the tropical coastline – it has the largest pine forest in the Canaries on its doorstep. Precariously perched on a ridge overlooking a rugged gorge, it's one of Tenerife's most jaw-dropping sights.Next, you'll head down to Garachico on the coast, and discover why it's known as the ‘prettiest and unluckiest' town on the island. Stroll by its famous lava pools and see the historic castle before a lunch made from locally sourced ingredients in a family-run restaurant. It's an ideal setting for savouring Canarian cuisine. The afternoon sees you exploring the jagged peaks in craggy Teno Rural Park. It's famed for its laurel and pine forests as well as its exotic flora. VIP La Gomera minivan tour from southern Tenerife with lunch

La Gomera is the Canary Island where time stood still. Be whisked away in VIP class on the ferry from Tenerife and explore its peaks and valleys in the best way possible – in a minivan. Highlights include Abrante viewpoint, San Sebastian and Garajonay National Park – Spain's last remaining rainforest. Arianne, one of our guides on this tour says, "La Gomera is a return to the past, to the origin of the Canary Islands. It's a totally different world."Once you've landed, you'll find a comfortable six-seater off-road minivan waiting for you. In little over half an hour, you'll go from sea level to more than 1,300m as you snake your way up towards Garajonay National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are camera-grabbing views of the island's Jurassic-like landscapes along the way. Garajonay is steeped in Canarian mythology, as your guide will explain. There's a stop to explore the mystical Laguna Grande laurel forest, which is so moist that many tree trunks are smothered in moss.Also on the menu is a Canarian lunch made from local ingredients. You'll also experience a demonstration of ‘silbo gomero', the ancient ‘whistling language' used by islanders to communicate over long distances. Plus, there are tastings of local specialities. In the afternoon, at the Mirador de Abrante viewpoint, you can see Mount Teide on Tenerife from a seven-metre-long skywalk that juts out from a cliff. To round off the day, there's free time to explore the capital, San Sebastian, before your return ferry.
