Bli med på en reise tilbake i tid til antikkens Hellas og Romerriket på denne halvdagsutflukten til den tiden byene Perge og Aspendos blomstret. Blant høydepunktene er verdens kanskje best bevarte romerske teater.

Første stopp på denne historiske hitlisten er den klassiske byen Perge. Den en gang livlige romerske havnebyen ble grunnlagt rundt 1300 f. Kr og var Paulus' første stopp under hans reise rundt Middelhavet. Her får du en guidet omvisning gjennom den imponerende romerske triumfbuen for å beundre tempelruinene, markedsplassen og fontenene. Hovedgaten er kantet med søyler, og her kan du til og med se sporene etter vognhjul i gatesteinene. Vi besøker også en arena med 12 000 sitteplasser og restene etter et akropolis fra bronsealderen.

Deretter reiser vi til Aspendos for å se antikkens kanskje best bevarte teater. Det ble bygget for 2000 år siden i en bratt skråning og tar 15 000 tilskuere. Den perfekte akustikken gjør at det fremdeles brukes til operaforestillinger og konserter.

This once-bustling Roman port was founded around 1300 BC and the first stop for St Paul on his missionary journeys around the Mediterranean.
