It's the place to be on the weekends, too, with live music, shops and traditional tavernas churning out steaming hot plates of delicious food. You'll be dropped off in the village for the evening where you can eat, drink and do as much or as little as you want.

The Holy Mountain

When it comes to national treasures, Mt Athos is right up there with the Acropolis in Athens. Halkidiki's easternmost peninsula is the world's only monastic republic, ruled over by the black-robed monks of its monasteries. Access is restricted, with all women – and female animals except cats – forbidden to set foot on its shores.

På tilbakeveien, når vi når sandstrendene i Sithonia, snirkler vi oss mellom små øyer som ligger spredt i havet, før kapteinen kaster anker. Her får du en ny sjanse til å bade eller slappe av på dekk før vi setter kursen tilbake til land.

With all the planning taken care of, you'll be able to while away the hours in total relaxation under the bright Greek sun before we arrive at the first swim stop. Plunge into the cooling sea and try some snorkelling to spot the sea life.Once you're back on board we'll continue along the coast for another swim stop. Along the way, you can enjoy a few glasses of wine, beer or soft drinks alongside, snacks, fruit, and fresh Greek yoghurt. And on the way back to port, you can even play captain with a short sailing lesson from the crew.

Setting sail from the port of Chrousso, you'll glide along the Kassandra and Sithonia peninsulas – dotted with beautiful islands made up of pine trees and bleached white beaches. You'll also stop by Neos Marmaras and Kelifos Island on this relaxing boat trip.Your destination is Toroni, where you'll be able to have fun and games on the beach or just chill out and top up your tan. There'll be a snack provided once you're back on board, while the skipper navigates to Neos Marmaras. One of the biggest ports in Halkidiki, you'll have time here to explore the town and hit the shops.There's a one last stop during the afternoon at Kelifos Island. It's also known as Turtle Island because of its turtle shell-shape. Dive off the back of the boat for one final swim before heading back to port.
