The original palace was built at the end of the 17th by the artistic and witty Queen Sophie Charlotte of Hanover and expanded in the 18th century. Charlottenburg Palace is open from Tuesday to Sunday. The palace is easy to reach from the city center by the S-Bahn, U-Bahn, or bus.
