Begin your tour visiting Zaanse Schans, where you will experience famous aspects of Dutch manufacturing tradition. Visit old but still working windmills used for the production of oil and timber. Head to Monnickendam, a historic former fishing town dating back to 1350. The town was once a wealthy city and one of the most important ports in Holland, while today it is a protected heritage site.
