Retken kuvaus

Pieneksi saareksi Salilla on paljon nähtävää. Tällä kokopäiväretkellä näet niistä lähes kaikki: Kite Beachin, Murdeira Bayn, Buraconan laguunin, Pedra de Lumen suola-altaat, Terra Boan tasangon kangastukset sekä Palmeiran ja Espargosin kaupungit. Maria, yksi paikallisoppaistamme, kertoo: "Pedra de Lumen suola-altaat ovat luonnollisen sattuman tulosta. Altaat sijaitsevat sammuneen tulivuoren kraatterissa, jossa on aina ollut merivettä, koska kraatterin pohja on merenpinnan alapuolella."

Aloitamme retken maailmankuululta Kite Beachiltä, joka on saanut nimensä siellä harjoitetusta urheilulajista eli leijalautailusta (kitesurfing). Sen jälkeen matka jatkuu rannikkoa pitkin Murdeira Bayhin ja edelleen Palmeiran kylän kaduille, joita reunustavat palmut ja värikkäät talot. Tämän jälkeen käyt Buraconan laguunissa etsimässä "sinistä silmää" ja voit nähdä Terra Boan tasangon kangastuksen.

Nautimme perheravintolassa paikallisista raaka-aineista valmistetun lounaan, minkä jälkeen tutustumme saaren pääkaupunkiin Espargosiin. Täällä näet kaupungin katutaidetta, joka ilmentää paikallista kulttuuria ja yhteiskuntaa. Jatkamme sitten Pedra de Lumen suola-altaille, joita pidetään Kap Verden vastineena Kuolleellemerelle. Retken päätteeksi käymme vielä värikkäässä kasvitieteellisessä puutarhassa ja nautimme cocktailit Ponta Pretan rantaklubilla. Luvassa on mahtava retki, joka yhdistää hienot maisemat, kasvillisuuden ja eläimistön sekä paikalliset kylät ja ruokakulttuurin.
