Discover the world’s leading collection of works by Monet at the Musée Marmottan Monet in Paris, and get access to both permanent and temporary exhibitions.

The museum opened its space to Impressionism in 1940, when it became home to Monet’s iconic Impression, Sunrise. In 1966, it became the universal legatee of Claude Monet, inheriting both the house in Giverny and the works that had remained in the family.

See over a hundred canvases retracing the career of the artist, masterpieces from his youth and maturity, and also the monumental canvases representing the water lilies and garden at Giverny. Never shown during the artist’s lifetime, these works were exhibited for the first time when they entered the Museum!

Enjoy this immersive experience into Monet's art in terms of both quantity and rarity and is the only institution to hold the last paintings of The Japanese Bridge and The House Seen from the Rose Garden...

Show your ticket at the entrance of the museum during the opening hours. Your ticket will be scanned by the museum staff. Metro stops: La Muette or Ranelagh (line 9).

  • The museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm (until 9.00 pm on Thursday). Last admission 1 hour before closure. Closed on 1 May, 25 December, and 1 January.
  • Reduced admission (to buy directly at the museum) for visitors under 18, students under 25, teachers, job seekers, recipients of the RSA, members of the Maison des Artistes, and the guide for a visitor with a disability
  • Free admission (with evidence of age/status) for disabled visitors, children under 7, journalists, guides and lecturers, members of the Institut de France and agents of the Académie des Beaux-arts, holders of ICOM and ICOMOS cards, Friends of the Musée Marmottan Monet
  • Most of the rooms offer wheelchair access (ground floor, Salle Monet, temporary exhibition)
  • The permanent exhibition rooms on the first floor can be reached by lift (standing)
  • Wheelchairs are available at the reception
  • Pushchairs are allowed in the Museum

    Mj avete evitato la coda al musee marmottan . Rischiavodi non riuscire a vederlo invece ho fatto biglietto su musement proprio davanti al museo e sono entrata subito dalla fila riservata

    This museum is inside a home, that still gives the feeling of being at-home rather than just a museum. Monet wouldn’t want it any differently - as his home outside Paris - also a must see - exudes the same personality … this makes the experience that much more ‘At home.’ Well done.

    We visited the Museum with the expectation of a large display of the works of Monet, as advertised. Not only was Monet banished to the basement but the few works displayed appeared less than his best and left us unimpressed. Disappointing.
