Ting at foretage sig på Marienplatz
Marienplatz er det centrale torv i centrum af München og starten af gågaden. På midten af pladsen findes Mariensäule, Jomfruens søjle, som pladsen blev navngivet efter. I nord domineres pladsen af det nye rådhus og i den østlige del af det gamle rådhus.
Siden grundlæggelsen af München med Henrik Løve i 1158 har Marienplatz været centrum og hjertet af byen. Her mødes de to vigtigste gader, hvilket har været og stadig er afgørende for byens udvikling og liv gennem århundreder. Til den dag i dag er Marienplatz Münchens bycenter.
