Att göra – Oude Kerk Amsterdam
Mitt i stadens berömda Red Light District ligger Amsterdams äldsta byggnad, Oude Kerk (gamla kyrka). Denna monumentala byggnad i gotisk stil, byggd på 1200-talet, tornar upp sig över sina historiska omgivningar. Idag fortsätter Oude Kerk att användas som kyrka samt museum och institut för samtida konst.
Kyrkan var ursprungligen avsedd för katolsk gudstjänst, men den konverterades senare till sin nuvarande användning som en reformert protestantisk (kalvinistisk) kyrka. Du kan se detta återspeglas i byggnadens design eftersom interiören har typiska katolska särdrag.
