The Cathedral of Saint Mary of the See is a Roman Catholic cathedral. It is the largest Gothic cathedral and the third-largest church in the world. It was registered in 1987 by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The cathedral is also the burial site of Christopher Columbus.

The Giralda is the bell tower of the cathedral. It was originally built as a minaret during the Moorish period, with a Renaissance style top subsequently added by Spaniards. The tower is 104.1 m in height and remains one of the most important symbols of the city, as it has been since medieval times.
