Buckinghamin palatsi on toiminut Britannian hallitsijoiden virallisena asuinpaikkana Lontoossa vuodesta 1837 lähtien, ja nykyään se on monarkin hallinnollinen päämaja. Nykyään se symboloi Britannian kuninkaallisia ja heidän horjumatonta omistautumistaan Yhdistyneen kuningaskunnan kansalaisille.
