Retken kuvaus

Nikosia tarjoaa kaksi todella erilaista maailmaa. Retki alkaa Kyproksen eteläosasta ja kulkee yli Vihreän linjan yli Pohjois-Nikosiaan.

Vierailet ensimmäisenä kyproslaista bysantin tyylisuuntaa edustavalla Pyhän Johanneksen katedraalilla ja Kyproksen kansantaidemuseossa, joka sijaitsee vanhan arkkipiispan palatsin tiloissa. Sitten kävelet Laiki Geitonian historiallisilla kaduilla venetsialaisten rakentamien kaupunginmuurien sisäpuolella. Kadut ovat täynnä kirkkoja, aukioita ja koristeellisia rakennuksia ja kaupunki tuntuu ennemminkin kylältä kuin kaupungin keskustalta.

Caledonia Waterfalls full-day tour with local guide and lunch

Trade the beach for the cool, shaded vibes of the Troodos Mountains – where nature's about to blow your mind. We're talking a three-kilometre hike, leading you to Caledonia Falls, one of Cyprus's tallest and most beautiful waterfalls, before heading to the village of Platres for a tasty, traditional lunch. Andi, one of our expert local guides, says, "You'll love the hike as much as the destination – it's like stepping into a fairytale, with cute little bridges crisscrossing along the stream all the way to the waterfall." But first, you'll kick things off at Kolossi Fruit Garden. Think juicy fruit and zesty lemonade to get you prepped for the adventure ahead. As you wind through the forest, the bubbling Kryos Potamos stream keeps you company – it's the perfect backdrop for those Insta-gold pics, almost like the Greek Gods are keeping tabs on you. You'll delve deeper along the forest nature tail, among old pines and strawberry trees, until reaching the showstopper – Caldonia Falls. Here, you can dip your toes in the shaded freshwater pool, snap some pics, and soak up the magic. The falls were named by a Scottish expedition in 1878, who were so wowed by how much it reminded them of home, they named it after Caledonia, the Roman name for Scotland. Afterwards, you'll head to Psilo Dendro, in Platres, for a well-deserved lunch. With its own trout farm, the fish here is as fresh as it gets – the perfect way to wrap up your mountain adventure.

For an evening filled with lights, magic and music, look no further than Cyprus's very own Magic Dancing Waters show. There'll be a colourful hour-long performance which is guaranteed to captivate all ages.Take your seat and prepare yourself for a dazzling feast for the eyes. The lights will be dimmed and 18,000 nozzles will come to life spurting jets of water into the air – all in time with the music. With more lights than you can count –12,000 to be exact – the water will be illuminated to create a colourful display.What's more, the fountain will make 65 different shapes in total, including a 60-metre-long curtain of water with smoke machines and cannons all adding to the drama. It'll come to a dramatic close as a man-made volcano erupts, complete with flowing lava, in a finale that's truly spellbinding.

Mediterranean Diamond Adults-only Cruises

The Diamond, a luxury power yacht, will glide past some of eastern Cyprus's top coastal sights on these adult-only cruises. You'll spot the likes of Protaras, Cape Greco and the Blue Lagoon. And it wouldn't be complete without swimming stops and an open bar. Choose between a morning or sunset sail.After pick-up, you'll head to Green Bay to board the Diamond. You're in for an authentic taste of Cyprus on this tour through the lower regions of the Troodos Mountains, where food is a cornerstone of the local culture. You and the family are in for a wholesome morning at CY Herbia Botanical Park. The gardens here are a world away from the hubbub of Ayia Napa, with acres of woodland and gardens, as well as a maze to roam and connect with nature. You'll start with a guided tour of the park's gardens, including a fun scavenger hunt to get the kids running around and exploring.
