Retken kuvaus

Ateenan kokopäiväretkesi aluksi pysähdyt ottamaan valokuvia Panathinaiko-stadionilla, jossa pidettiin ensimmäiset olympialaiset vuonna 1896. Ohitat myös Zappeionin palatsin ja Olympoksen Zeuksen temppelin. Sitten ajat Ateenan trilogian – Ateenan yliopiston, Ateenan akatemian ja kansalliskirjaston – ohi, ennen kuin matkasi jatkuu kansallispuutarhan, Hadrianuksen kaaren, Pyhän Paavalin kirkon, parlamentin, Tuntemattoman sotilaan haudan, Schliemannin talon (numismaattinen museo), katolisen katedraalin, vanhan parlamentin, perustuslakiaukion ja venäläisen ortodoksikirkon ohi lopulta Akropoliin.

Tutustu Akropolis-museoon ja tee pieni kävelyretki Herodes Atticuksen odeionin ja Dionysoseksen teatterin ohi. Aamupäivän kierroksen jälkeen nautit lounaan paikallisessa Tripadvisor-palkitussa ravintolassa Akropoliin rinteiden alla.

Lounaan jälkeen lähdette rannikkotietä pitkin maisemalliselle ajomatkalle, jolta avautuu näkymä Saroninlahdelle, ohittaen Ateenan kauneimpia esikaupunkialueita (Glyfada, Vouliagmeni, Varkiza), ennen kuin saavutte lopulta Cape Sounionin. Poseidonin temppeli sijaitsee kallioisella kukkulalla, josta on näkymät kirkkaana päivänä Egeanmeren yli aina Keaan ja Peloponnesokselle asti.
